SMALL STEPS

Kaizen is a daily activity, the purpose of which goes beyond simple productivity

improvement. It is also a process that, when done correctly, humanizes the

workplace, eliminates overly hard work (“muri”), and teaches people how to perform

experiments on their work using the scientific method and how to learn to spot and

eliminate waste in business processes. The philosophy can be defined as bringing

back the thought process into the automated production environment dominated by

repetitive tasks that traditionally required little mental participation from the

employees.

CONSTELLATIONS

“It doesn’t seem fair that we can look back and connect the dots in life, and see what led from that to this, but we cannot look forward and anticipate in any way what constellation today’s dots will form in the vast space ahead of us. I guess it’s just best to assume that heaven is right here, right now, and let the stars fall where they may.”

CREDIT DEFAULT SWAPS

Dear Friends,

I read with glee the letter that Jake DeSantis wrote to Mr. Liddy, submitting his resignation to AIG.

The reason that I am joyful is that since I first learned of the $165m in bonuses paid by AIG I also learned that not all of the employees receiving bonuses were responsible for the financial debacle that we are in now.

In the past few days I have learned of protesters in CT standing outside of AIG bonus receivers homes – protesting as many Americans lose jobs, homes, and well just about everything.

I thank Jake DeSantis for coming forward and stating that his division is actually profitable in accountable dollars and he thought that his contract with AIG would be honored.

I think that we have all seen in the past 64 days as President  Obama has stood by his “men and women” as the public and media have attacked their plans.

It is unfortunate that Mr. Liddy put all his eggs in one basket and had them labeled bad apples.  While I understad that some executives are returning bonus monies on principal-SHAMING people into returning hard earned money is an unfortunate consequence of the larger debacle we are in.

Wall Street needs Main Street and vice versa.

Now if we could act as a country and stand by our people and our contract (The CONSTITUTION) with each other.

Thank You and Good Night,

Nyenye
