UNDER CONSTRUCTION

November 20, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I am officially a Chippie. That’s right Ladies and Gentleman. I am working in the Construction trade. I’m LOVING IT. I am one of the workers on a casita renovation here in LA. I’m looking for a Live/Work space if anybody knows of anything out here in Los Scandalous. Some place where I can make noise, paint, play music and have parties all in the same place.

FRY BAKE

November 19, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Hi Elly,

I’ve heard of Fry bread, but never eaten it. Fry bake is usually the size of a biscuit and served at breakfast. It is traditionally served with a fried fish. I don’t eat fish so I just eat it like a morning biscuit with breakfast

:) Nyenye

Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon sugar
water as needed
oil for frying

Directions
1 In a large bowl sift the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter and add the sugar. Mix with a fork until well combined.
2 Add enough water to make a dough and knead gently. Cut the dough into 4-6 pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Let stand for a few minutes.
3 Flatten the balls of dough to about inch thick. In a large skillet over medium heat, add enough oil to coat the pan. Cook the dough until brown. Serves: 4

Bahá’i

November 12, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a celebration at The Bahá’i Center in Los Angeles. Music, dancing, and laughter. Performers included Eric Harper and Dwight Trible

When was the last time you heard Classical Jazz live? Check out Dwight Trible. Eric Harper what can I say, he plays a mean guitar.

Check them out and hear for yourself.

FARMER’S MARKET

November 11, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Ventured to the Farmer’s Market this morning. I got there just before closing. I did the run around and found what I needed. I love heirloom tomatoes. Never knew I did or at least not this much. I got avocado hummus. I’ll have to let you know how that goes. I meant to get tortillas to go with and forgot. Whoops!

I’m watching Pitch Black.
